UNIVERSAL’S JURASSIC WORLD LIVE

I teamed up with Dustin Power to create a handful of FUI animations for Universal’s Jurassic World Live. There were designers who worked on the overall layout of these designs then Dustin and I went in to animate the elements. These animations are currently integrated into the live performances of this show for the world to see.

On top of that I was approached by an art director to help create a life-sized foot print of the Indominus Rex. To make this footprint as acurate as I could to the source I was given Industrial Light And Magic’s 3D assets of the creature. I then brought it in to C4D and used the foot to create bump and displacement maps on top of some other trickery to create this footprint into a flat surface. Then I sculpted clay around the foot to make more of an impression of weight pressing into a muddy surface. The raw file, rendered through Octane, came out in blue… but with a lot of compositing via Photoshop I was able to make a more realistic final render. After the success the print team had this render printed onto a material (similar to a mouse pad) and made a handful of these life-sized footprints for both the traveling show and inside headquarters!
